Concert for Japan is a benefit concert organized to help the homeless, children, elderly, and orphans affected by the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011. This event will be globally broadcasted and will feature local and international artists such as Karl Wolf, Ricky J, Atomic Tom, Sam Tsui, etc. Yakudo will be joining them and will be performing on September 3. Proceeds will go to Ashinaga, Japan Earthquake Relief Foundation and Global Giving.

The Toronto Hiroshima Day Coalition is holding the 66th commemoration of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on this day with the theme, “Faith and Abolition: No Nuclear Weapons, No Nuclear  Power”. Yakudo will be performing at 6:30 pm and 8:20 pm.

This is a continuation of Yakudo's first successful production of EN at Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts on Oct 3, 2010 in which they did some collaboration with Sakurakai dance troupe. This second production will feature new works and collaborate with Friends of Yakudo.

Yakudo will be giving an educational performance/presentation as part of the Asian Heritage Month celebration at Fernforest Public School.

At the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, 6 Garamond Court, Toronto, ON
The JCCC will be holding a benefit concert for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. This concert will feature many professional and community musicians and artists, including Yakudo. There will be a silent auction prior to the show. All proceeds will be go to the JCCC Foundation’s Japan Earthquake Relief Fund.

Yakudo will take part in the celebration of Japanese culture at George S. Henry Academy by conducting a 1-hr taiko workshop.

The Asian Hockey Championship and Cultural Event is an annual event that is dedicated to promoting hockey in the East Asian community. They have partnered up with the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre (JCCC) for this event and will be raising funds for the Japan Earthquake Relief Fund. Yakudo will be performing as part of the cultural entertainment.

Yakudo is excited to host and welcome this vibrant Taiko group from Izumi, Kagoshima, Japan. Sharing the same passion for the sounds and music that Taiko, our two groups met up on our recent visit to Japan, and we quickly established a friendly bond. George S. Henry Academy will be hosting a dinner fundraiser for the survivors of Japan’s Earthquake and Tsunami. 
The evening’s program will reflect the theme, “Collective Spirit, Responsibility and Action:  Offering Hope and Encouragement to the Survivors of the Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan” and will feature the Yakudo Drummers and their Dance of Hope.
This event is open to the public (19 years and older) and will include a silent auction (payment in cash or by cheque only).  All proceeds from the dinner and the silent auction will be going to the Canadian Red Cross Fund for Japan Earthquake/Asia-PacificTsunami.
